We are thrilled by the news that Our Local Commons—Charlottesville, Vol. II, won a Best in Show award at the Printing and Graphics Association MidAtlantic 2015 Excellence in Print Awards Gala on March 11!
Worth Higgins & Associates, the Richmond-based printer that partnered with us in the creation of Our Local Commons—Charlottesville Vol. II, took home seven awards that night, a testament to its eye for quality and attention to detail. We’ve felt since seeing the book last fall that the decision by Scott Hudson, director of Worth Wide, to print Vol. II on the company’s UV printer brought the book to the next level—and clearly many others think so, too.
Top-quality paper and brilliant printing are both key to this Best of Show recognition, and so is the book’s design. There we tip our hats to Convoy, where Matt Thomas and his team worked tirelessly to refine every last detail of the book’s layout.
And finally, we send our gratitude to the folks featured in the pages of the book itself—the chefs and bakers, vintners and winegrowers, artisans and enthusiasts whose genuine passion for their work glows through each image and every word.
Three cheers for Our Local Commons—Charlottesville! There’s more where that came from. Stay tuned!
